Brass Central Strathearn was the brain child of a group of ex and older players from many different brass bands around Scotland who came to live and work in the Strathearn area.
They come together under the then band manager Hilary Whitaker, who has played with some of the best Scottish Brass Bands. When Hilary seen the regeneration of the Victorian Bandstand in the MacRosty Park in Crieff, a few years ago, she set her mind to forming a new brass band for Strathearn. The Strathearn area has not had a brass band since around the 1980's.
With the help of The Governors and Headmaster long with the Head of Music at Ardvreck School, who offered the facilities of the schools music department, and Andrew Duncan, youth development officer with the Scottish Brass Band Association. the band was formed in February 2012.
